What you can expect

Day 1:
· Begin in Dunhuang with a guided visit to the breathtaking Mogao Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its 1,000-year-old Buddhist murals and sculptures, offering profound insights into ancient Silk Road artistry.
· Head to the iconic Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Lake and enjoy a dip in a timeless desert oasis. Afternoon includes a hands-on ethnic costume session, immersing you in the vibrant Hui or Uyghur traditions with photo opportunities in colourful local garb.
· Evening winds down at Shazhou Night Market, savouring street foods like lamb skewers and hand-pulled noodles amid lively stalls.

Day 2:
· Head to Silk Road Heritage City for a cultural stroll through recreated ancient streets, evoking Dunhuang's trading past.
· Venture to the historic Jade Gate Pass or Yang Pass, rugged Silk Road sentinels symbolising the empire's western frontiers, with tales of nomads and explorers.
· Culminate at Yadan Geological Park for a mesmerising sunset over wind-sculpted “Devil's City” formations, capturing the raw, otherworldly beauty of Gansu’s inland seas. Return to Dunhuang relaxed and inspired.
