Enjoy the relaxed pace and the rugged countryside of England's Lake District. Wander in the footsteps of Beatrix Potter's beloved Peter Rabbit, as you stroll through quaint villages, sit by stunning lake-sides and enjoy the country air that inspired Romantic poets, including Wordsworth.
Depart from London on a scenic train journey through the stunning English countryside to Oxenholme, arriving in the late morning. Wind along country roads and soak up beautiful views of Lake Windermere, England's largest lake.
Continue to Hill Top, Beatrix Potter's charming 17th-century farmhouse. Climb creaking wooden staircases to see where she wrote her famous stories. Visit the medieval village of Hawkshead before making your way to the breathtaking Coniston Water for a relaxing lake cruise.
Then stop for a delicious English Cream Tea at Lindeth Howe, a gorgeous country-house hotel that was the home of the Potter family, and a place where Beatrix often stayed.
The next day is yours to do with as you wish. With plenty left to discover, perhaps enjoy some walking in the surrounding hills, or another sightseeing cruise on the lakes, before making your way back to London in the early evening.
