The hotel is absolutely nothing like these 10 out of 10 reviews I've read on here. The only logical explanation I can think of is that they've been written by the owners. Communication prior to arrival was terrible, with me having to do all the chasing over several days to try and get the check in instructions and the safe box codes. Upon arrival we met another guest who said we've come to the foreign version of Faulty Towers. Not a good sign we thought. When we entered our room, we found it hadn't been made up after the previous guests. The beds were unmade and wet towels were all over the floor and also on the bed. The room itself was not great. The whole carpet was massively stained and ripped in places. The chairs were broken and the TV remote didnt work. Other reviews praise how wonderful the breakfasts are, yet the information in the room clearly stated they do not do food at this hotel. There were several other things wrong with this place and the only reason I haven't given it one star is because when we complained about the room not being made up or cleaned, they sent someone over straight away to do it. Even though it was done awkwardly around us.

Room was clean, bedding clean room okay, hotel overall not in very good condition quite dirty in radiators hanging off walls. In need of some TLC and a good clean, it served a purpose for our onward journey to Manchester Airport Parking reasonable for an overnight stay and gave reminders on when your parking was due to run out

The grounds and golf course are genuinely impressive, and the exterior sets a high bar. The restaurant matched that: excellent service and both courses I had were really great! And the service was fab! Where it falls down is the gap between what's promised (marketed) and what you get. I booked partly because the listing includes a pool, and I'd planned an evening swim before dinner. Reception pointed me to it at check-in with no caveats. When I got there, staff told me I'd need to pay an extra £35 for spa access just to swim, on top of the room rate already paid. Nothing in the listing flags this the way at all - I queried this with the reception and he said it’s all one - but that’s not the case in the booking. If a hotel's going to gate the pool behind a spa charge, say so before booking please. You do that with the breakfast. Then there's the noise. Whistling pipes (like fog horns) and people going up and down the corridor kept me up long after I wanted to be asleep. A premium-looking property that doesn't consistently deliver a premium experience once you're inside. Good for the golf and the food. Check what's actually included before you book - or make sure you get the spa bit!

Very nice hotel, clean comfortable rooms. Friendly staff and welcome. Breakfast service a little slow but very good quality. Car parking is limited.

The room was perfect and cosy. The breakfast included was great and the staff were all so friendly and accommodating. My one request or point of improvement would be for their to be a smart TV in the rooms. Luckily we had a good film to watch but if one thing could be improved it would be that.

Great spot. Very quiet. Suggest you find it in daylight hours as it’s a bit tricky. Super friendly staff. Cooked breakfast would improve it.

Lovely room, friendly staff. Decent bar and really good breakfast with plenty of choice. Location excellent, 5 min walk to the Arndale Centre and plenty of bars/restaurants nearby

Very clean everything

Don’t order breakfast it’s a basket. I was charged a commission amount which was incorrect, but was resolved . No milk to make hot drink in your room . Little things matter

The room was nice and large with a comfortable king size bed. It was in a lovely position. Most of the staff were friendly. The food was fine and not expensive. The breakfast sausages were good.
