Good room with a nice view

This is the first hotel review I have ever written because I have never been as disappointed as I was with Hotel Villa Mayor Charme Fortaleza. The information and photos available online do not accurately represent the property we experienced. The rooms were extremely dated, with worn-out furniture of very poor quality. The cleanliness was unacceptable. There were stains on the walls throughout the rooms, and the overall condition made the hotel feel neglected. I am allergic to mold and dust, and within minutes of entering the room my eyes began to itch. We had booked two rooms, and the second room also had visible mold and stains on the walls. It was immediately clear that this was not an isolated issue. We specifically chose this hotel over a larger hotel chain because the photos and descriptions suggested a charming boutique property. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different. We had booked a 14-night stay but were unable to spend even a single night there. The hotel showed us other available rooms, but they were in essentially the same condition. We were told that some rooms are being renovated, but despite the significant difference in quality, we were not offered one of the upgraded rooms. We had no choice but to leave and find another hotel. We are now requesting a full refund because the accommodations we were provided did not match the quality, condition, or expectations created by the hotel’s online listing. The gym is well equipped. Breakfast is pretty good, go for tapiocas! Staff is very polite and helpful.

Need to clarify. Restaurant staff top! Beach/pool staff first 2 days. Videos on cell phone more interesting After that the 2 guys that start Sunday. Top top Check in front reception stuff especially the lady that did our check in horrrible. We requested someone to fix our shower she said they will go there. 5 hours later we walked by front desk asked her did they fix it she said yes we got to the room no one had fix it. To which she said oh. They were busy sorry. then 5 minutes later someone showed up. She forgot. It would be best if she just said I forgot.

Hotel is in good condition, clean and well staffed. Food was good and both breakfast and dinner had plenty of options. The beach is amazing and easily accessible, with permanent facilities like chairs, and straw beach huts, with the staff being very friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and spacious, with AC working well and a nice porch, although it had only two chairs, no table or chaise, and wasn’t really very comfortable to use. The only main problem during our stay was with the fitness center, most equipments were on maintenance, without a basic treadmill (absent, not broken), an issue for a runner like me when the weather is not ideal for outdoor training. If possible, choose a villa instead of the apartment, they are really nice and is the main attraction of the resort. We tried to upgrade our reservation but we were told the hotel was 100% booked, although villas seemed to still be available online for the period we were staying. Also, consider the hotel is about 1h away from the main city, Fortaleza, so it’s perfect for a stay-in-the-resort kind of vacation, but not very convenient if you also enjoy a good city dining or nightlife. Plan accordingly, traffic in Fortaleza is a bit unpredictable.
