Great stay for the money

Our room had a fabulous view over the Marina, a nice balcony and modern decor. The buffet breakfast was very good.

The staff and management do not have basic customer skills. I have tried to call the hotel in advance to warn them that we will be late, but somebody opened the line without responding and left the line opened for the next 90 min. Although we had All Inclusive reservation, we were left hungry, without dinner. The staff refused to acknowledge that we have All Inclusive and in the morning the manageress did not acknowledge our Expedia receipt which clearly states All Inclusive. The Expedia Customer Service confirmed that we had All Inclusive and partially reimbursed us, which was great. However, the staff and manageress's attitude and customer skills were outrageously bad or non-existent should I say. Instead of mitigating the issue in some manner, the manageress was quite argumentative and outright rude. My advice to all customers is, please avoid this hotel at all costs. They do not deserve your attention and money.

For such a nice hotel, it was missing basic room items such as a coffee or tea kettle, no clothing iron and room was not sufficiently cool enough. To help conserve electricity there were sensors that would turn on hallway and stair lights, a little creepy if single female walking alone day or night. I really appreciate friendly service (smile) and felt a little lacking from front desk. Yes I’m an American that only speaks English but still a respectful paying customer that tips for service. However we appreciated the breakfast buffet which was so good and nice options. Beautiful hotel atmosphere, pool and designated lounge area by the sea. A gentleman was especially friendly and helped us with bags as we departed and waved goodbye. Lots of great food options and shopping near also. We miss Burgas and speak fondly of our trip. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Perfect quiet location in city centre. Original, unique features and furnishings took you back in time. The outside area, and glass entrance roof needed to be swept. Inside, was lovely, beautiful original glass doors, art works, shinning brass. It was also only 20 min walk to the park and beach, where there were lots of beach bars.

The price was good comparitively for this area at this time, but as a seaside location, Varna is still more expensive than other Bulgarian cities. I did have buffet breakfast included, however. The buffet seems to be normally rated as excellent, but I would just say that it was ok. Yes, there was a selection similar to most full buffets, but more modest in size, perfectly edible but not special, and the prices and quality when I had one dinner I would describe as similarly ok, but just average. The staff were great, and the room was clean with everything I needed, and the location was great for me, travelling with heavy bags, because it is only about 200metres from the train station, and other transport options to Varna are limited. You can fly, but there aren't many flights, long range buses don't run every day, and train travel is very cheap. I have found the trains reliable, even though they look and feel like they are held together with cloth tape :) You can walk from this hotel to anywhere at the Port, beautiful Sea Garden, or the centre, if you are happy with 15-30 minute walks. The hotel standards in Varna, in spite of it being a major Black Sea resort town, are not as good as in Sofia or Plovdiv, so travellers should try to reach up an extra star rating to get what they normally expect. The city has a lovely location, however. My overall good rating, therefore, reflects that this was a comfortable and good option in Varna, and I will stay here again.
