We requested a refund from the Hotel thru Expedia. The Grand Bay View refused our request stating our hotel reservation was non refundable. We explained to them that our situation was out of our control as the UK government site advised against all but essential travel to the UAE and your travel insurance could be invalidated if you travel against advice. We have applied to 2 other hotels that we would have been staying at during our trip to Hong Kong, Both hotels have fully refunded our money back in full!! (these were non refundable too!) This just shows, in adversity certain people or establishment step up to the mark whilst others don’t!
