"The staff were incredible and so helpful. The cabins are open air; just screen windows, so if you hate being damp, this is not the place for you. There are also a lot of ants, so don't leave ANY crumbs unattended. Location and garden were amazing... Definitely a "roughing it" kind of stay, so be prepared, and bring waterproof bags or ziplocks for your electronics"

"We had a very pleasant stay at Casa Freya. The location is very convenient, close to nearby beaches and natural attractions. The house is very well-maintained and equipped with the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The outdoor area with the open kitchen and living room as well as the pool is lovely. "Although it's listed as being in Cahuita, the location is considered Puerto Viejo and is centrally located to numerous restaurants and shops. Nature sanctuaries are accessible by car or a tuk-tuk. The hotel itself is open, airy, with a beautiful pool that's more of a water feature due to its irregular shape and shallow depth. The 2 bed/2 bath apartment with a kitchen was great, but the view was just okay. To access the apartment, you have to go climb two external flights of stone stairs that can be tricky especially when it's raining and/or you have mobility issues. The staff are incredibly helpful and kind. I really enjoyed my stay and can't wait to visit again. Pura Vida!"
