"We recently stayed at The Ocean View Hotel from 13th–15th February and unfortunately were very disappointed with our experience. We chose this hotel specifically because of the facilities advertised on the website, including a swimming pool, bar, coffee shop, evening dining, jazz club with cocktail bar, and the daily “Happy Hour” promotion. These amenities were a major factor in booking what we hoped would be a relaxing weekend break. However, on arrival—and throughout our stay—we discovered that the swimming pool, bar, coffee shop, and evening dining were all closed. There had been no prior notice of these closures on the website or in our booking confirmation email. To make matters more frustrating, there were posters displayed around the hotel advertising “Happy Hour” from 4–6pm daily, despite the bar not being open. Breakfast was also an additional charge, and while convenient, we found that far better quality and more reasonably priced breakfast options were available just a short walk away in the town centre. The lack of communication felt misleading, as the facilities advertised were simply not available. Had we known in advance, we would likely have chosen alternative accommodation. While the stay itself may suit guests who only require a room, (if you don’t mind a bed without a headboard), we feel the hotel should be transparent about which amenities are operational. Clear and accurate information would help manage expectations and avoid disappointment. "

"Spacious house for 8 adults, enough cutlery and condiments to dine in. Loved the proximity to the sea and comfortable beds. Plenty to do in Sandown and the beach was lovely. The biggest shame for us was the privacy glass. We chose this house for the views as my mother had an operation and needed to rest while we had fun. She couldn’t see the sea at all unless she stood up-other properties in the same block had clear glass. There was everything you needed except oven gloves and a hand towel, you wouldn’t think to bring these."

"I left my rain jacket behind and the owner got in touch with me and he agreed to meet me next morning at Gunwharf Portsmouth because he happened to be travelling over, couldn't thank him enough "

"Neil met us when we arrived, to hand over keys and run through the heating, shower etc. Very friendly and welcoming and let us know that he was close by if we needed anything. The Haven had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable."

"The apartment was excellent. everything you needed for a self catering break. Tv in the bedroom and lounge, lovely shower and comfortable bed. Suntrap patio and only a 5 min walk to the beach. Ally has thiught of everything for your stay especially with the welcome pack of milk, bread, cereals and all the condiments. Would definitely stay again. 10 out of 10"

"Very easy check in, apartment amazing and just as described. Only issue we had was with the TV and someone came out very quickly to fix! Changed our ferry booking no problem."
