Room clean, shower hot and full working air conditioning. Coffee and a kettle and good working fridge as I have meds that need to be kept cool. Breakfast buffet cover all bases, both local and western food.

Right in the middle of the riverfront, this French colonial–style gem is one of my favorite hotels anywhere. The courtyard and pool are stunning, and most rooms come with big balconies overlooking the peaceful setting. Evenings are a treat too—their drink menu is surprisingly sophisticated for Laos and makes winding down after a day of exploring even better.

"The room was so clean, updated and had all little toiletries you could need. The staff was so attentive with answering questions, helping with luggage and holding our luggage while we did a tour. Air conditioning worked amazing so much we couldn’t even keep it on the coldest, which is what I love ..."
