"We decided to stay at this iconic hotel partly for a bit of fun as well as it's great location in Tashkent. If visiting the capital no doubt you will at least visit the property for it's history and location, adjacent to the hotel is the square,metro, restaurants and other attractions to explore. The hotel itself can be described as an older property and does need a facelift to bring it back to it's former glory, however if you fancy staying in what can be described as a piece of Soviet history then this is for you!....The staff are friendly and helpful,the rooms are spotless,however some are refurbished and some are not!....ours wasn't refurbished but we did have a balcony giving us view of the mountains in the distance,the room itself was simple and basic but good value,and kept clean.Breakfast was plentiful and the bar on the 16th floor is well worth a visit for a cold beer and admire the views,in addition the lunch menu was good and good value for money. Yes there are better hotels in Tashkent,but Hotel Uzbekistan can offer something a little different where you can say that you stayed where former world leaders stayed back in the day and just enjoy the fun element of being there!,"

"The location is great: right by the canal/water, in the middle of the city where locals live, rows along the canal and with key tourism sites are easy to get to. The hotel is what one can expect Crowne Plaza offers: pristine with great amenities. Many other international hotel chain in Tashkent are getting to be expensive as the city develops, reaching US hotel price range. Crowne Plaza offers Crowne Plaza quality yet still at a good affordable price for a foreigner. A superb value in Tashkent! Highly recommended."

"This was a delightful little hotel in the northern part of Tashkent. It was close to the metro (15 min walk) and Tashkent TV tower and had nice restaurants and convenience shops close by. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast could have been a bit more varied but it was absolutely fine. Top tip - go for breakfast early. The somsas were delicious. The staff were unassuming and friendly. I would definitely think about staying there again."
