"Very comfortable bedrooms and lovely public areas - several sitting rooms/areas all very nicely decorated and furnished. Bathrooms need updating, but are solid and clean. Fawlty Towers type staff and operation of hotel. But it was so comfortable we didn’t mind. We booked a superior double room. Excellent location, Historical hotel. We’d stay again."

"Cute place parking opposite but very busy. Comfy bed but bathroom although clean was smelly. Great couple of restaurants to choose from. Don’t know where they get 20 mins walk to the palace etc. more like 1.30 HOURS and mostly uphill and very steep. We walked for 30 mins , gave in and took a tuk tuk ride , cost 20 euros, and took at least 12 minutes still to top, some way to walk when dropped off. Not the most ideal place to stay for doing sintra as very misleading information about being able to walk to most of the sites of interest but enjoyed the stay."

The room itself is beautifully remodelled.There is no one on site but the check in instructions were easy to follow. We needed to be in What’s App to get the information. Our only problem was getting an Uber since cars are restricted to the town centre. We would definitely stay again."
