(301 reviews) Ocho Artisan Bungalows was fanatastic! My partner and I were there foir 3 nights, but wished we had more time! I was a bit on edge as we got there - it's on a dirt road, no lobby (just an office), and no one had ever heard of it! so I wasn't sure what we were walkiing into. But, we were immediately greeted by Ilsa and Seyu (sorry about the spelling) - who made us feel totally welcome. The bungalows are completely unique - very modern amenities, but with an airy and artistic feel - almost like a tent (but it's not). The pool area is an oasis of calm and quiet - surrounded by luscious greenery, complete with daybeads - makes for a very peaceful day in the sun. The beach and beach club are great. We had round oversized day beds reserved for us - and the staff moved umbrella's so we were in the shade. The beach is incredible - beautiful sand, big waves to play in. Along with that, there is great food and delicious drinks - and Tanya, in her cowboy hat made everything even better! This is a small place and the best part is the staff - isla took such good care of us - it was like being part of a family. We really appreciated everything that she did for us. This is not a generic hotel - so if you are looking for a standard big chain - this is not it. But, if you are looking for a small, intimate, beautiful resort with impeccible service and attention to detail - this is the place to be. Couldn't recommend it enough!
