The living room includes a large desk, which makes it a quiet, spacious setting for research and writing. Mary Kay is highly responsive, prompt, and a delight. Wonderful location and floor plan. Bed was comfortable. The place was superficially clean. Pots, pans, plates, glasses, and silverware were all kind of gross. Admittedly I have a bit OCD. The home was stocked with 1 roll of toilet paper, and 1 trash bag for a week. There was no sponge provided to do dishes except old used ones. The coffee pot lid was filled with some old fluid. The renter above is heard 24/7 not that they were loud or disrespectful, just the floor is thin. Parking can be tricky. It is plentiful but you will need to go to the city and purchase daily visitor parking passes for the days you will be parking. Plus the signs must be paid attention to as there is a lot of verbiage and you can’t always park even with a pass. $49 ticket cost for parking on a street sweeping day (different day for each side of street). This apartment was located in a quiet, safe neighborhood. The walk to downtown Oakland was less than 30 minutes, an easy stroll through a nice neighborhood. The owner lives in the house and is very nice and responsive to any issues. The apartment is a good size for 2-3 people and very well stocked with lots of kitchen gear. This was a perfect set up for me as I was in town working for a week. There are lots of very good restaurants within easy walking distance along with a couple of grocery stores.
