the units are well equipped and set in an excellent location close to all amenities in Svolvær. Overall we enjoyed our stay but our customer experience was diminished a little by a sub par breakfast. Buffet dishes were not routinely replenished and staff seemed to be focussed only on getting the job done rather than on enhancing the customer experience. We felt that, for a hotel that seems to believe it is high end, this was not entirely satisfactory. Also a “how did you enjoy your stay” type of comment should be the least a 3 night guest should expect on checkout but once again there seemed to be a lack of training (or was it a lack of motivation) in this area.
Maybe we shouldn't have imagined that all the rooms had a view of the water - given the price for the room, we have to say we were disappointed to look out onto the car park with cars parked right outside our window. We felt a lack of privacy as a result. Maybe one has to request a room on the other side of the corridor? Apart from this, it was a lovely place to stay, with friendly and helpful reception and an excellent breakfast buffet in a room overlooking the harbour. Location is good for sightseeing and the surrounding mountains are beautiful.

After studying the Hotels in Svolvaer I chose Vestfjord Hotel because of it's location. I was not disappointed. I arrived by bus from Narvik and departed by ferry to Bodo after spending two nights there. The bus station and ferry terminal are both probably 100meters walk from Hotel. I had a little trouble actually finding the Hotel when bus arrived because of not good signage, but soon sorted that out. The Hotel building is not new, it is an old fishery building right on the wharf and renovated into a Hotel. It is on three levels, I was on second level. Unfortunately there is no lift between floors. Once on correct floor it is a bit of a maze, up there but rooms are clearly numbered. I was given a small room at end of corridor which had commanding views of the water and harbour entrance. Basic room, very clean, bed was comfortable, shower had good flow of water and it was hot water. I was very pleased. Breakfast is included in the tariff and it was a very good spread of the usual assortment found in Norwegian Hotels. On the second morning the ferry departed at 6.30am so I was provided with a Breakfast pack to take with me. The young man on reception was very apologetic about it being a basic pack, but it was just what I needed. I ate Dinner in the Hotel restaurant on second night which was very well presented. All staff I had dealings with were very pleasant and helpful. Except for the weather, it was raining, my stay in Svolvear was pleasant.
Many problems getting code for access. We went to the admin office a few blocks away at least 4 times over the day to get the code but although the door was wide open there was no one on the office until 4 pm. Room was clean but underneath toilet seat very dirty. Room was very hot - 25 degrees - couldn't sleep. Soul-less. With no staff or any way to contact staff it felt eerie.

Nous avons apprécié le dîner de plats locaux servi dans la bibliothèque. Facile à trouver et avec un grand parking, tout près du centre-ville, l'hôtel est situé sur une route passante, mais nous n'avons pas été dérangés.
