"An excellent vacation rental! Super clean, tastefully decorated, many thoughtful touches like fully equipped kitchen, paper products, etc. Even wine & chocolates! The sauna was a great touch, as well as the comfortable outdoor spaces. We love to explore Leelanau, but it as hard to leave the comfort of the home. Tom & Diane were quick to respond to our questions & were fantastic hosts! "

"Owners are responsive to questions. I hate to be critical of what is obviously a family home, but the home is very outdated, and was not especially clean upon my arrival. Lots of cobwebs, spiders and spider webs, etc., and the kitchen floor was dirty.It was very hot and muggy the week of my stay. There is no AC, just fans. Unfortunately, many of the windows don't open and the screen door on the upper level doorwall does not work so we had to keep the doorwall closed.The front deck with picnic tables/umbrellas pictured in the listing is no longer there, so I thought I'd just sit lakeside in the chairs by the fire pit. Unfortunately, both chairs are rotted and cracked. Finally, since the lake is known for swimmer's itch, it would have been nice to have access to outside water. There was a spicket, but no usable hose.But overall the home is comfortable, albeit a bit rustic, Wifi worked great, view was very peaceful, and the location can't be beat."

"The older house was hotter than expected… fans worked some. mooring for boat not strong enough but boat people brought another anchor which worked great. The deck was very rough and one child stepped on an nail sticking out… deck definitely needs some attention rest all good!"

"Our family of 7 adults, 1 toddler, and 1 infant stayed for a week. There was plenty of space for all of us. We all had our own bedroom and bathroom. Great location for what we wanted to do. Near hiking trails, beaches, and various towns. About 30 minutes out of Traverse, which was fine for us. It was quiet and the people you met there were friendly. Highly recommend staying here on your next trip!"

"We had a great time staying at the Irwin CottageThere were 8 of us total 4 adults and 4 kids between the ages of 7-11Enough space inside for all of us and there were 2 living areas so the kids could be away from the adultsThe best place was outside by the lake, there were enough chairs by the fire pit for all of usThe kids had great time playing the sand and the lake is shallow and sandyThe kids also enjoyed the kayaks and swim platform, they out there most of the tripThe owners needed to remove something from the property and notified first and were nice to respect our stayWe got an opportunity to meet one the owners and Michelle was very nice and brought a bottle of the local wineI would consider this place again if staying in that area again"
