Room condensation.

Posted 20-May-2017
Pros: Staff, Location, security and the grounds.
Cons: The room condition. Proper sensitization and cleaning.
Location: Location was perfect and activities great.
The Staff was pleasant and helpful. The rooms were not sanitized. Linen seemed to have not been washed for a long time. The room became wet and the floors slippery once the door to the balcony was opened. The balcony was not cleaned at anytime during our stay.

Good Day Arlene, Thank you for your comments. We are happy that you did enjoy some aspects of your trip. It is unfortunate that we failed to meet your expectations regarding the condition of the room. With regards to the wet and slippery floors, as was mentioned this is due to the location of the property being so close to the sea which usually has a high level of air born mist. Best regards,

Excellent hotel

Posted 18-May-2017
Our stay was great. Rooms were great. Shower was a little small but ok. Staff was friendly. Wifi was good in lobby but not great in rooms. Very slow for internet and not able to stream at all. Breakfast was great. Overall, we will be staying here on all trips to Tobago.

Too much condensation.

Posted 15-May-2017
The rooms were not sanitized properly. Linen must have been changed months before. Once air condition was off and a door opened condensation occurred to a degree of creating slippery floors.

Thank you for your comments. It is unfortunate that the condition of the room did not meet with your expectations. This is certainly not the norm since each assigned room is refreshed prior to arrival. We will definitely address this with our team members. With regards to the condensation, this happens due to our location. There is little we can do about it, other than to advise our guests to be cautious when opening the sliding door. Best regards,

Nice hotel but remote location

Posted 13-May-2017
The hotel in itself was great, it had a resort style feel and the pool was very nice and the buffet was delicious. However, the hotel was empty. On a Monday night, we were the only ones at the restaurant, we asked hotel staff about it and he said the hotel was at 40% capacity which is odd for April. The reason being that the hotel is located on the Atlantic side of the ocean and all the popular beaches are on the Caribbean side of the ocean. So all the guests leave for Pigeont Point during the day and only come back at night. The rooms were very nice and clean but if you go for a stroll outside around the hotel and on the beach, there is very poor landscaping and beach maintenance which is unfortunate for such a beautiful place.

Good Day, Thank you for your comments. We are happy that you enjoyed the pool, buffet and you were pleased with the condition of the room. With regards to our occupancy during the week, we usually run at a very decent percentage when compared to other locations. Some of our guests choose to dine in, while others choose to go off property for various reasons. The shuttle to Pigeon Point leaves the hotel at 9:00 and 11:00 am on a daily basis, and returns at 2:00 and 4:00 pm in the afternoon. It is not accurate to say that all the guests leave for Pigeon Point, since some of them do choose to remain on property and enjoy the ambiance of the poolside. At this time of the year there is the presence of the Sargassum seaweed. It is usually left on the beach as it is a natural preventive measure of beach erosion. It is usually only present for a couple of days and it is washed back out to sea.

Hotel is clearly aging. Specifically upkeep of gym, beach chairs, bathrooms is a problem ... . The real issue is the restaurant quality - very expensive for very basic food. That's why few people are really having dinner / lunch there. Breakfast is pretty good, though. Front desk staff is excellent.

Nice resort - needs improvement

Posted 13-Mar-2017
Pros: I really appreciated that you never have to leave the resort the everything you need for your stay is on the premises. Breakfast buffet is amazing.
Cons: Staff needs to improved their attitude towards ALL guests. Smile, be friendly and do your best to be HELPFUL its part of the job in customer service.
Location: I had a car so it was easy to get around the island. Numerous bays with activities are near by (Piegon Point, Crown Point, etc.)
Overall Magdalena is a beautiful resort. While staying at the resort I found a few things to be disappointing which i will touch on below. Pros: 1) If you don't care to explore the Island, you don't have to leave the resort. The pools are great, the bars are always open, there is food, shops, a spa, and a cafe on the premises. 2) The resort staff can organize a taxi or shuttle for guests to attend different attractions on the island. 3) Rooms come with a small balcony where you can enjoy the Atlantic Ocean view 4) The woman working in the gift shop is extremely friendly and helpful.** 5) The breakfast buffet is amazing (when booking this resort book a room that comes with complimentary breakfast..YOU WON'T REGRET IT) Cons: 1) Check-in is at 3:00pm but, I was not checked in until a little after 4:00pm (I arrived a little early and asked whether the room would be ready on time, the receptionist explained that the cleaning staff was preparing the room which is understandable. We received a complementary drink and was asked to wait in the lobby. After 3pm I asked the receptionist about the room and the response was rude as if i shouldn't even ask.) 2) Getting extra towels was difficult because they would either not bring them or take very long to bring them. 3) Throughout my stay, very few staff members were helpful which was disappointing - I expected a more friendly staff from such a big resort ESPECIALLY at the front desk. (The bell staff was more friendly)
