"When I arrived at the property, despite me canceling my previous reservation, they were confused as they saw two reservations, and even after me showing that I had canceled it, they still gave me a hard time. They should have better communication with the booking agency so that this does not happen to someone else in future. The room was OK but nothing spectacular. Definitely not a five star hotel by any means ."

"The resort is set back from a busy road in a fabulous nature setting. Beware that 20 out of the 26 "rooms" are tents and only 6 are solid built cottages. If you want a glamping style close to nature experience then the tents are fabulous. If you want to have more privacy go for the cottages, which are very large and beautiful. Staff was extremely helpful. As we were few people breakfast and dinner options were limited but very tasty. Excellent option for a luxury stay in thw dambulla triangle."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kobbewehera?

The best area to stay in Kobbewehera is near the town centre, particularly around the Kobbewehera Raja Maha Viharaya temple. This central area offers convenient access to the town's main facilities and is the traditional heart of the community. You'll find local eateries and small shops within walking distance, giving you a good feel for daily life. The temple itself is a significant cultural landmark and is usually a focal point for visitors. For couples seeking a quiet and culturally rich experience, staying near the temple is ideal. It allows for peaceful strolls and opportunities to observe local customs and traditions without being in a bustling tourist hub.

When is the best time to go to Kobbewehera?

Kobbewehera is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit for consistently dry and pleasant weather is between December and March.During these months, you'll experience less rainfall and lower humidity, making it ideal for exploring the ancient sites and natural beauty of the region. This is particularly good for those planning to spend a lot of time outdoors, such as visiting Sigiriya or Dambulla. If your priority is seeing the Kandy Esala Perahera festival, which is a spectacular cultural event, then you'll need to plan your trip for July or August. While these months fall within the "inter-monsoon" period and can have some rain, the festival itself is a major draw. Do note that accommodation prices can be higher during this time due to increased demand.
