![I'm not sure I want to share this tip because it's such a perfectly kept secret, but in the teeny, remote "town" of Reykir (there's really almost nothing there), is a little hostel that was nearly empty while I was there. Behind the hostel are two natural hot spring-fed pools on the edge of the ocean. Really basic accommodation, but there's a full kitchen and the pools are worth the stay. "The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The guesthouse was clean and welcoming. We could walk around town from the guesthouse even though the town was small. There was 1 restaurant and a small grocery store. I would stay there again if I were back in the area."
