Aquarium Suite Genova

Calata Andalò di Negro 3, Genoa - Map

A little complicated to get to but a very fun spot with a submarine out the window! I put 4 on the facilities because I had to figure out how to turn on the hot water heater since it was off (wall switch below the tank). Parking is complicated but it all worked out, just the nature of the area! Kids loved the LARGE room and the dolphins at the aquarium! Mold in the shower floor corners... NBD. The room manager of the apartment let us check out at any time since the next day was not booked, very accommodating!

Hotel Punta San Martino

Via Della Punta San Martino 4, Arenzano - Map

"Nice hotel, nice staff, facilities lacking"
Visited at end of sept so weather wasn't the best, large pool was closed, and getting down to arenzano was difficult. Either take the road with no path route or the cable car lift. The lift seemed to be closed a lot of the time. The restaurant food was lovely and the staff were very friendly. The hotel rooms were nice but the heating didnt always come on. For free food go to the cafes in arenzano as every time you order a beer they bring out bread, meat and crisps.

Residence Villa Beuca

Via Frankenbergen, 37, Cogoleto - Map

"Nice apartment with wonderful views"
The Residence is perched high above Cogoleto with fine views across the Gulf of Genoa. It is worth making sure you have a 'sea view' as this is the main attraction. You also need your own transport and be prepared for the very steep mountain road with six tight hairpin bends. There is one restaurant close by but no shop or other facilities. The restaurant is very good, excellent food and good value. A bottle of house wine 7 Euros! However, it is very popular and often fully booked.

"Boutique hotel in the old town "
Characterful hotel in the heart of the old town, plenty of cafes and restaurants right out side the door. The room was clean and stylish with good bathroom and fittings, and air con, thank goodness.

Pocket Guide: Apartment Hotels in Genoa

Book an Apartment Hotel in Genoa

If you're looking for mid-range accommodation with all the comforts of home, book an apartment hotel in Genoa. A great option for families and groups, apartment hotels usually offer plenty of space with a separate living and dining room area.

From the hip to the historic, apartment hotels usually come with WiFi, flat-screen TVs and coffee makers to ensure you have a comfortable stay in Genoa.

    Family Fun in Genoa

If you’re travelling to Genoa with your kids in tow, stay in an apartment hotel to take advantage of the city's family-friendly attractions, many of which can be found in Porto Antico. Families often head to the Aquarium of Genoa to see all its marine life, including sharks, dolphins, penguins, seals, manatees and more. In its dramatic ship-inspired design, the aquarium is the largest of its kind in Italy (and the second largest in Europe).

Also popular with kids is the Neptune, a pirate ship permanently moored in the harbour. A life-size replica of a 17th-century Spanish galleon, the ship was built for Roman Polanski's 1985 movie Pirates and is great for exploring.

Another must-see in Genoa is the Galata Museo del Mare, the Mediterranean's largest maritime museum, with four floors loaded with nautical artefacts. Check out the reconstruction of a 17th-century galley ship and a real submarine which is moored in the port. There's also a fascinating section dedicated to Genoa-born navigator Christopher Columbus.

After a busy day of sightseeing, recharge your batteries in one of Porto Antico's waterfront restaurants, bars or gelato shops.

    Experience Genoa Like a Local

Staying in an apartment in Genoa will give you a real flavour of what living in this Italian city is really like. Make like a local by feasting on golden focaccia bread, which the city is famous for. The best place to try focaccia is in Genoa's historic centre, where you'll find many bakeries serving up the tasty bread.

Home from Home in an Apartment Hotel in Genoa

For a homely time in Genoa, stay in an apartment hotel to be within easy reach of the city's numerous sightseeing attractions, restaurants, bars, cafes and gelato shops.
