Worst Hard Rock Hotel so far
My fiance and I have decided to travel a few times a year and stay at all the Hard Rock Hotels we can in the USA. This is our 4th one. We have stayed in Orlando 4 times, Las Vegas 2 times and Lake Tahoe once. The Hard Rock Chicago is by far the worst hotel we have stayed at. The only thing Hard Rock about it is their gift shop and the sign on the building that is it. We pulled up across the street where the "valet parkers" just stood there. We had to pay 65.00 a night for valet - and we ended up carrying our bags across the busy street ourselves. The next morning a call came to our room and the valet's had smashed my father's brand new vehicle. So they "forgave" the parking charge and said they would have their insurance company contact us in 10 days. Still waiting. The room was supposed to be a "King Deluxe Suite". It was a tiny room with a bed that could not possible be a King but probably a Queen. The most uncomfortable bed we ever slept in in our entire lives. There were holes in the door, dirty walls, mildew covered bathtub. My parents had the room next to us and the exact same thing. When we talked to the manager he told us everything was subcontracted and they could do nothing to make our stay more pleasant. The two restaurants in the hotel closed hours earlier than stated.
