Flights to Lisburn

Lisburn is just under 16 miles from Belfast International Airport, where your flight will land. The drive from the airport takes approximately half an hour by car, although if you wanted to go the more picturesque route through Lagan Valley, you will get an immediate intake of the stunning scenery that is emblematic of Ireland.

Flight routes to and from Lisburn

There are more than 15 airlines that fly to Belfast Airport from over 60 different countries. It is the second busiest airport in Ireland after Dublin and one of the busiest airports in the UK. The majority of direct flights are from other European countries, but you can also fly direct to Belfast from some North African countries such as Morocco and Egypt.

Getting a connecting flight could save you money. You could also use Expedia’s multi-flight booking function to stay overnight in a different location and really go all out on your fabulous trip to Ireland.

Getting to Lisburn after your flight

Belfast Airport is 16 miles Northeast of Lisburn. It connects to the city via the B101. There’s a taxi rank outside the entrance to arrivals but, considering the distance to Lisburn city centre, this may be a more expensive option.

If you’re planning to explore further afield during your trip, save yourself time and money on arrival by arranging your car hire through Expedia.

Alternatively, you can catch the Ulsterbus 109A, which will take you directly to Lisburn railway station and runs between 6am and 6pm Monday to Saturday.

When to book a flight to Lisburn

Lisburn is a lovely city to visit at any time of the year. During the colder months, you can keep warm in the museums, cathedral or many cosy coffee shops around the city. Spring and summer are perfect for those looking to spend a lot of time exploring the nearby countryside and hiking in the Lagan Valley Regional Park or on the coast near Belfast.

There are times, however, when the city and surrounding areas are particularly vibrant. During July and August there are several festivals that take place between Lisburn and Belfast. The Sunflowerfest is a great experience for all ages and the Cathedral Arts Festival in April offers a day of music, arts and culture.

Make the most of your stay

With the airport situated so close to Belfast, why not make the most of your trip and spend a night or two in the bustling capital before you fly home. There are a range of hotels near the airport or, for a more immersive experience, stay in Belfast city centre and take in the vibrant atmosphere, busy shopping areas and world renowned restaurants on offer.
