"Interesting concept for modern accommodation. Everything seems to flow seamlessly. Clean, functional, and generously sized rooms. The free laundry allowed us to catch up on our washing on a 6 week tour of France & Spain. Some reviews seem to focus on the 30 minute walk to the old town. We took the 10 minute bus ride from behind the hotel for 1.9 euro everyday. Just tap on with your credit card. Breakfast looked good but we never tried. Gym was well fitted out and rooms quiet."

"Great location if you are looking for an affordable and practical alternative to staying in central San Sebastián. Pensión Beizama is in a quiet area of Astigarraga, with a bus stop about a 3-min walk away. Buses run regularly into Donostia/San Sebastián, passing the main bus station and continuing into the city centre, with a stop by Hotel María Cristina. I travelled alone and felt very safe in the area. The pension is above a small local bar/restaurant, which was very convenient for a quick breakfast and served good tortillas. They also serve meals, although I didn't try them. Within about a 5-min walk there are other local restaurants and places for pintxos, as well as small market and a bakery. I actually enjoyed being in a more residential area and seeing a bit of local life rather than staying right in the tourist centre. My room was clean with a small balcony. It was compact but perfectly functional. The bathroom was also small, but the shower area itself was spacious. This is a very simple, no-frills accommodation, and the price reflects that. There are three flights of stairs and no lift, and there is no AC. This wasn't a problem at all during my stay in the second half of September, when the temperature was very comfortable. Check-in and check-out were both quick and straightforward. Juan is really friendly. Overall, a simple, clean and good-value place to stay, with very convenient public transport."

"A lovely home from home, within walking distance of Gros, Old Town San Sebastian and Pasaia San Pedro. We didn't have a car but managed shopping and a week of visits around the area without issue. Lots of buses and trains close by, although we only used the train once as we walked most other places.We stayed as a group of 6 and had plenty of space in the house. The pool was clean and great fun while the kitchen and bbq had everything required for a group stay, the 2 fridges really helped.Ainhoa was a perfect host, who met us on arrival, along with her husband, to guide us round the house and explain all that we needed to know. She then kept in contact throughout offering advice and guidance on what was on in the city, and when the grass was being cut etc. Really couldn't ask for any more.I hope to return again and explore further into the Basque country and would not hesitate in booking this accommodation."
