The best area to stay in Beipu is right within the historic Beipu Old Street area. This neighbourhood is the heart of Beipu and is where you'll find most of the historical sites, traditional Hakka architecture, and local eateries. The main street, Zhongzheng Road, and its surrounding lanes are pedestrian-friendly, making it easy to explore on foot. You'll find many guesthouses and B&Bs located amongst the traditional buildings.Couples looking for a cultural experience will find this area particularly appealing. Staying here means you're just steps away from the Citian Temple, the Jin Guang Fu Mansion, and numerous tea houses where you can sample local Hakka delicacies. The convenience of having everything within walking distance allows for relaxed strolls and spontaneous discoveries. For those who appreciate a more peaceful setting but still want easy access to the Old Street, consider accommodations slightly outside the immediate pedestrian zone, perhaps on the quieter streets leading up to the historic centre.

For the most pleasant weather and to fully enjoy Beipu's outdoor attractions, the best times to go are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November).During these seasons, the weather is generally mild and dry, making it ideal for exploring the old streets and tea plantations. You'll find comfortable temperatures for walking around and experiencing the local culture without the intense heat and humidity of summer or the cooler, sometimes damp, conditions of winter. For those interested in agricultural tourism, autumn is particularly good as it often coincides with local harvest festivals, offering unique cultural insights. Couples might appreciate the cooler, less crowded conditions in autumn for a romantic stroll through the tea fields or a visit to a traditional Hakka eatery.Families travelling with children will also find spring and autumn more comfortable for outdoor activities like visiting the Beipu Old Street or exploring the nearby natural parks.
