I’ll tell you about some of Oxford University’s crazy traditions & you will hear stories about some of our famous authors, whilst we can’t forget the Harry Potter film locations. We end the tour at a hidden secret 14th Century Pub where you can enjoy a drink. This tour is great for people of all ages, couples, singles & families. Balliol College (Pass by)
You start the tour at Oxford's oldest college and hear a brief history of Oxford & the University. Note that we do not go inside any buildings during the tour. If you are interested I recommend you visit after the tour, where you can spend as much time as you need, rather than being rushed.
History of Science Museum (Pass by)
You will learn about the history of this museum & its collection, many of which were owned by famous people.
Sheldonian Theatre (Pass by)
You learn about the architect, the history & what the theatre is used for, including two Oxford University historic ceremonies.
Bodleian Library (Pass by)
You learn all about the history of the buildings that make up the library, its links to our Kings, how its collection was created & how it is used by students today.
Bridge of Sighs (Pass by)
You get to see a bridge that wouldn't look out of place in Venice & how its used in an annual Oxford University tradition.
Radcliffe Camera (Pass by)
Probably Oxford's most photographed building. But what is it? Hear about its history, its architects & the use of its hidden tunnels.
University Church of St. Mary the Virgin (Pass by)
Hear about the trial of Oxford's martyrs. Note that we do go inside as part of the tour. The entrance is free.
Carfax Tower (Pass by)
Hear about a town & gown incident that epitomised the relationship between the Towns People & Students dating back 600 years.
The Turf (Pass by)
We end the tour at a hidden secret Pub where you get to see remnants of the old City wall, plus the opportunity to have a drink in a 14th Century Pub. Plus a place where Bill Clinton smoked buy didn't inhale!
