Activity itinerary

Sjoholt (Pass by)
A very picturesque village where all the roads leading from Alusund to Oslo, Trondheim, Molde converge. Enjoy breathtaking views of the road along the Storfjord and the village port with the U-shaped mouth of the fjord. Listen to fascinating stories about this city and the role it played in life in Ålesund during the Middle Ages.
Liabygda Church
  • 10m
A charming village along the fjord with many small farms grazing cows, sheep and goats. The typical wooden church, built in 1917, stands majestically above the fjord and road. Stop for photos at the panoramic viewpoint with stunning views of Storfjord, where the Geirangerfjord begins, and explore the salmon farm and town of Stranda.
Stordal Municipality
  • 10m
Stordal village is the administrative centre of the local commune. Soak up the fascinating storey of Stordal and enjoy the magnificent views of a cosy valley surrounded by mountains with countless waterfalls and wild rivers flowing into the mouth of Storfjord. The fjord cuts into the coastline, forming a convenient bay for water transport. Stordal had relatively good agricultural land, and the main source of income was animal husbandry. Stordal was also home to furniture manufacturing and continues to operate in this industry to this day. Optional stop for a photo or bathroom.
Ferry Eidsdal-Linge
  • 30m
  • Admission ticket included
Cruising Storfjord by ferry. Go to the top deck and admire the majestic fjord surrounded by mountains and beautiful villages.
Eidsdal (Pass by)
Enjoy a drive through the picturesque valley of the village of Eidsdal. Listen to the amazing storey about this village and you will learn why even in this remote village there are houses in the Art Nouveau style, just like in Ålesund, where we begin this journey.
Eidsvatnet
  • 20m
Eidsdal village runs up to the high mountain glacial lake Eidsvatn. We drive a steep mountain road and stop at a charming lake - Eidsvatnet (425 metres above sea level), which is known as a good lake for fishing. This place offers stunning views of endless meadows with farms. Eidsdal is an agricultural village. Most farmers produce milk from cows and goats. There are several camping (glampings), cabins and room rentals available.
Ornevegen - Ornesvingen
  • 20m
  • Admission ticket included
Eagle Road This tour is available year-round thanks to the Eagle Road. This is the only road connecting the village of Geiranger overland with the rest of Norway's towns and villages. The steepest section of the road is called Eagle's Flight, as navigating its eleven hairpin bends at 620 metres (2,030 ft) above sea level is a bit like flying through the air. At the topmost bend is the road's most impressive viewpoint, Ørnesvingen, which offers stunning views of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Geirangerfjord. We will drive along this stunning road twice and you will have the opportunity to fully enjoy the beautiful views.
Geiranger
  • 2h
Geiranger Village We will arrive in the village of Geiranger and you will have free time for a boat tour on the Geirangerfjord. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office at the pier.
