Overview

Embark on a self-guided kayak experience for an unforgettable nature experience in the northern archipelago of Aland. Paddle along red granite cliffs towards the open and barren archipelago of the Bothnian Sea, home to a diverse birdlife, including Stormskärs Maja's islands and the incredible Boxo Nature Reserve.

Enjoy an overnight stay in a cosy traditional archipelago cabin or a glamping tent with a comfortable double bed in the heart of the nature reserve. Take a refreshing sauna bath and a dip in the clear water of the bay's shore.

We'll assist in planning your route based on your interests, previous experience, and current weather conditions. To ensure safety, we recommend having at least one person in the group with prior knowledge and experience of kayaking in open water.

Activity itinerary

Day 1: We'll pick you up or you can make your own way to Hamnsundet. After reviewing the archipelago map and equipment, you'll pack your belongings and today's lunch box into the kayak. You can also order dinner for tonight and breakfast and lunch for tomorrow. We'll provide a safety briefing before setting off for two days of exploring the Norra Aland archipelago. At the end of the day, you'll arrive at Boxo for dinner, sauna, and overnight accommodation. Day 2: You'll wake up to a delivered breakfast, and we'll provide a lunch box for today's excursion. You can paddle out into the bay or choose to hike in the Boxo Nature Reserve. After a day of adventure, we'll take care of the kayak and equipment and transport you back to your accommodation or another location, as agreed. Extra days can be booked separately.
