Fabulous Opera location and view!

Posted 06-Oct-2014
Pros: Location, comfort, friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: No complaints at all.
Location: Just a block or two from the Opera and a short walk to too many sites to list. An excellent location in 2nd Arr.
We stayed at the Hotel Edouard 7 on our way back through Paris for a short 2 nights. The hotel is in a super location and central to many restaurants and sites. The room was tiny but completely efficient and comfortable. The internet worked well and our balcony offered a splendid view of Opera Garnier.

Centrally located little gem

We ended our trip in France with a stay at the Hotel Edouard 7. It was centrally located to all the things that we wanted to see/do for our last 2 days - a quick walk to the Opera, Louvre, Gardens, d'Orsay and some shopping. You could see the Opera and Montemarte from our balcony, which was pretty cool. The restaurant at the hotel was excellent and the staff very nice. The front desk personal when we checked in were also great and very helpful, printing off maps and giving general recommendations. The room itself was cozy - a bit psychedelic with it's bronzy-orange and purple wall paper. Beds were small but comfortable. Our room somehow had small ants in it - which the gentlemen at the front desk didn't care about when told. He just waved it off. One warning, there are no shops around that sell bottled water, so we had to rely on what we could get at the cafes or use from the minibar (what a rip off! 6€ for a small bottle!). Another negative, which I think is more Paris in general though, was that most everything was closed on Sunday. I would definitely stay at this hotel again though. Great location, mostly great staff, comfortable.

Great location,right in the Centre

Pros: Location, clean and updated, friendly staff, great service.
Cons: Tea and coffee in rooms
Location: as above
What a great hotel located in the middle of this beautiful City.Once we got our bearings, it was easy to get around and see all the sights from this hotel.Room was smallish but adequate as a base for us to explore the City.Clean and comfortable with a great view of the Opera.Others stated that it was noisy to the front...not so, double glazing was sound proof!Only gripe was no tea or coffee making facilities but I guess that's the Englishmen in Paris! Had a problem with the shower not draining away and this was recitified straight away with no hassle.Staff very friendly, informative, spoke good English (as my French was a little rusty!). Would recommend this hotel and would return.Did all the usual sights and used the 'Open Tour' buses to hop on and off at Louvres, Notre Damme, Eiffel Tower (amazing on a night-take a cruise boat down the Seine, you won't be dissappointed),Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe...Tres Bonne!!! Can't wait to ge back

Great hotel with a great location!

Posted 26-Aug-2014
Pros: The location, staff and comfort.
Cons: I found everything to be nice for me.
Location: The hotel is right by the Opera and Galleries Lafayette and Printemps. If you walk in the other direction you can go to the Louvre.
I was so very pleased with Hotel Edouard 7 Opera. They are on top with 3 important things. Location, service and comfort. The staff was fantastic, they were very nice and helpful. A comfort as well since I know very little French. The location is perfect. One direction you can walk to the shopping district and Opera the other the Louvre and other famous landmarks. If you don't want to walk to get around, the metro station is right there. There is also a market nearby on the same street. As far as the room, very comfortable, possibly the best bed I have ever slept in. The bathroom was very modern with beautiful features. The room is small compared to American standards, but I understand this is expected in Paris. I had no trouble with the room size. I will certainly stay here again.

Nice hotel. Good location :)

Posted 23-Aug-2014
Pros: Excellent location close to attractions and the metro. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The only downside to the room we stayed in was that the bathroom door was completely see through which led to a lack of privacy.
Location: Close to the opera and the louvre. Many popular attractions within walking distance.
Lovely comfortable room with view of the Opera, staff and service was excellent, both in the restaurant and room service.

Well located, charming hotel

We stayed there with our 20 month old child for a week-end. Hotel staff were very friendly and thoughtful (e.g. there was a little teddy bear waiting in our son's crib when we arrived). The room was comfortable with a few nice, slightly quirky touches and the view of the Sacre Coeur from our window was lovely. Location is great and I would definitely stay there again.
