Friendly laid back atmosphere

Posted 24-Feb-2015
Pros: Location and friendly atmosphere
Cons: Cleanliness of grounds could be improved - particularly the beach. Although it is a public beach the hotel could make an effort to keep it litter free
Location: Easy access from airport. Close to Pigeon Point with free shuttle bus provided. Hire a car and tour the picturesque island by yourself.
Our second trip to the Magdalena. Comfortable hotel with friendly staff and an easy going style. Location is great with access to (breezy) beach, golf course and spa facilities. Close to the airport but not at all noisy. Good choice of tasty food even if the breakfast fare tends to overdo the salt a bit

Great time in Tobago

Posted 14-Feb-2015
Pros: I really enjoyed everything I experienced at the hotel. The staff were professional, pleasant and the customer service was excellent.
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: The location is right on the Atlantic Ocean. There is a pretty rugged beach for walking and a shuttle is offered to Pigeon Point. Bikes to borrow.
My experience was great from the time I entered the resort until the time I left. I was there for a two day stay. Check in was fast and pleasant. The bellman, Wendell, greeted me in the lobby, brought me a welcome drink, showed me around the grounds during our golf cart trip to my room. The breakfast buffet had plenty of variety and was good as well as filling. All the other restaurants I ate at were good with pleasant servers. I also highly recommend the spa. I enjoyed a couple spa treatments before I left that made me feel like a new person. The spa staff were very helpful, pleasant and professional. If you want to learn about TT culture, things to do just ask...I learned about Soca and Calypso music from Floyd & Sonya, best parade ideas for Carnival from several staff. The cab driver on the way back to the airport explained some of the costume traditions to me. Lovely people, lovely place!

Pros: Very beautify, from every angle. Blends well with the seascape.
Cons: When I checked in, one card key could not work. Then, I discovered that there is no hot water to the room. It was soon rectified.
Loved the facilities. I like the layout of the hotel. The buffet dinner and lunch was very good.

Hotel' s nice. Tobago is nicer.

Posted 24-Jan-2015
At check-in I was given a standard room as if that was what was booked&confirmed ‎.   I questioned re: my deluxe booking (as based on the airline I took-British Airways' website a standard room is much cheaper).  ‎Thereafter the king-sized bed request was never acceded to for none of the four nights I spent there. Staff tries otherwise, some more than others and some bias to certain guest is obvious.

Nice hotel close to beach with amazing views

Posted 26-Dec-2014
Pros: Access time to pools
Cons: Bedding
Location: MovieTowne is just 5 mins away
Really enjoyed the stay here even for just a day. Friendly staff, beautiful view, love their breakfast buffet. Access to beach from room balcony. Amazing pool bar, but was closed when we went for a dip because it was raining. Beach was rough that day, not sure if it is safe to swim.

Nice Hotel, Great View

Posted 02-Dec-2014
Cons: The beach is not the nicest, with rough waters since its on the windward side of the island, however beautiful beaches are just a 10 minute drive away
Great hotel, all amenities are available to guest, including a lovely spa, a large pool inclusive of bar, a sports bar, a kids play area just to name a few.. Food was excellent, breakfast lunch and dinner provided a large variety of local and international cuisine. Staff was friendly and courteous.

Was not charge what I was told. Staff told me one thing and the bill was something else and they denied saying anything.

Scenic hotel on the Atlantic Ocean

Posted 24-Oct-2014
Pros: The location, I like the scenery and the quietness of the location. At night you can hear the waves crashing on the shore. Very relaxing
Cons: Room Service, a robe in the room wold be nice and probably some slippers
Location: Near Scarborough, Crown Point, Bon Accord. Boat tour of Coral Reef, Shades the night club is close by (mix crowd) Pharmacy, movie theater, grocery
This is my second time at the hotel and my stay was comfortable and relaxing as anticipated. I like the fact that the hotel is spread along the ocean front so I am not always running into other guest in hallways etc. It has a private feeling and is very laid back and relaxing. The food is very light and fulling at the Salaka grill and they also make a mean Pina Colada, the staff Kerline and Carla provided great service. Breakfast at the Pembois Restaurant & Terrace is always great, wide variety and the chef Kiev is amazing with the omelet. The Li’ l Nylon Pool Bar also makes great drinks and the staff is attentive if glass is empty. The water pressure in the showers are good and the floor is tiled. 74 degrees or colder for the rooms seem to be the best temps to prevent dew build up on tiles. Ricado at the concierge desk was very helpful in providing information, always pleasant. The north wing of the hotel has a more scenic view of the area on both sides, the best part is all rooms have an ocean view on the balcony but on the north side you get to seem more of the Tobago plantation area and golf course. The gift shops on site are average resort prices not too crazy.
