Good value

Posted 12-Apr-2015 on Hotels
Good value, very good quality hotel, about 20-25 min walk from the heart of Galway. We could have been more central, but we would have paid for it. There was a huge crowd for breakfast, but all dealt with effortlessly by staff. Galway is hard to beat.

Nice, quiet surroundings

Posted 07-Apr-2015 on Hotels
The hotel is nice, the staff very friendly and helpful and despite not being in the center of Galway it is only a nice 15 min walk away. Our room was next to the elevator so for a couples getaway it was loud at times as we could hear everyone taking the elevator up and down and talking through the walls.

Nice hotel with not helpful or friendly front desk

Posted 06-Apr-2015
no matter what question we asked the staff the could not answer it, from what time the bus came to calling a cab. During my stay I also stayed at a travel lodge they were 80% better in guest assistance they called a cab for me. Being from the states it would of been really nice to be greeted by a friendly staff and a knowledgeable staff or willing to find some answers. The staff in the bistro was extremely friendly and helpful!

Dated hotel

Posted 28-Feb-2015
Old lift that broke down during stay. Understaffed & waited ages to be served. Bar menu extremely poor & extortionate prices for what was on offer. No entertainment on offer for a Saturday night. Room was clean but very dated. Disappointing stay. Breakfast had poor choice of fruit.

Galway getaway

Posted 05-Jan-2015 on Hotels
We stayed for two nights and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The room was ok but showing its age and in need of a revamp, There are better rooms i am told, but ours was dated with little touches like the bath surround was discoloured and the shower head was loose. The breakfast was better on the saturday morning that the sunday, .The sunday breakfast was a bit cold, with no pastries on offer. The lift to the bedrooms was small and looking very tired. The hotel is in a good location, about a twenty minute walk to the city centre and a taxi home cost 8 euro for 2 people. We slept soundly both mornings till 9 a.m which cant be bad in a hotel.
