Ibis - Brighton

Posted 17-Apr-2014
Pros: Location, staff, quiet despite location.
Location: v close to station, 5 - 10min from seafront and centre.
Functional rather than flash but comfortable all the same, did the job for a stopover after biking the downs link from Guildford. Staff reallly helpful and friendly - had to store bikes, not an issue atall, let us leave them there till 5 the next day. Despite room facing busy street on a Sat night v little noise filtered in. Great location, 5-10min walk from the centre / seafront.

Handy location near the station

Posted 16-Apr-2014
Pros: It is clean, bright and reasonably efficiently run. 12 noon check-out is useful.
Location: The hotel is right near the railway station and walking distance from the shops and sea front. The Brighton Pavilion is well worth a visit.
Our three-night stay at the Brighton Ibis was fine. The room was clean and tidy, the bed comfortable and bathroom adequate. However, there is limited shelf-type space in the room and the bathroom and the towels, one each for the two of us, are only just big enough. The shower was hot enough but not much flow, not much more than a trickle, but probably adequate. The blinds are totally opaque as they claim, but there's a wooden panel which runs along the wall into the window recess preventing the blind from being closed right across the window, so light comes in on a bright morning. Good hotel centrally located

Posted 14-Apr-2014
Great location Pleasant staff Good room size which was clean Family stayed on 1st and 2nd floor who weren't very impressed. We stayed on the 6th and we were very happy up there Disappointing that the window stated rooms from £79. The price behind reception stated from £67 yet we booked well in advance and paid nearly double that! All in all a good hotel in a great location in Brighton.

Nice hotel, central location.

Uber modern and meticiously clean. Great central location, The Lanes shopping area 1 min, beach 10 mins. Excellent Indian takeaway across the street called Nutrispice. Two gyms within 2 mins but £10 per day. Went to CHeetahs myself, 10 min run away and only £3.50. Certainly worth the run, excellent muscle gym wih cardio aswell. Highly recommend. Great time as always in Brighton

short walk from station.

Posted 25-Mar-2014
Pros: location for walking to local attractions.
Cons: bathroom door mechanism is awful. Bathroom is very noisy.
A very short 2 minute walk from the station. However if you come by car you have a big problem - as there is not even a drop off point at the hotel. the nearest parking is a the back of the station which is expensive - and a 5-8 minute walk with all your luggage. The hotel is well located. 5 minutes to the lanes and 10 minutes to the Pavillion. Plenty of cafes , bars and restaurants immediately to hand. Room very clean and upto date with contemporary decoration and fittings. Surpisingly quiet - our room at front of hotel. The street was very busy with traffic and noisy pedestrians - but little noise came into the room. We didnt like the bathroom 'pod'. You can hear every small noise coming from inside it and the door fastening latch is very stiff - so both opening and closing the door could not be done without a large thud - which could not be slept through. overall would stay again - but will investigate alternatives.

Brighton Budget Hotel... Better than the Grand!

Posted 22-Mar-2014
Pros: Everything couldn't fault a thing!
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Excellent location right by the train station and The Lanes. Lots of boutique shops and amazing restaurants and bars.
Booked this hotel for my big birthday weekend last week. Have to say from start to finish it's got to be one of the best hotels I've stayed in for a long time. Bearing in mind I always book 4* plus. And the Ibis is supposibly classed as a budget hotel. From the friendly greeting on arrival plus getting a great discount at the NCP car park which we didn't expect. Our room was immaculate and very spacious. Bed was so comfy too. Brilliant location right by train station and the Lanes. Even on the Saturday night when we got back from partying the bar was still open and had music playing ( not too loud don't worry) so we decided to have a couple of night caps before bed. Staff we're very accommodating and friendly at all times. Bottom line is I will definitely choose this hotel in the future over any of their top end hotels in Brighton. Brilliant!!

Fix the plumbing!

Posted 22-Mar-2014
Pros: Safe, clean, comfortable room; decent breakfast buffet for a competitive supplementary price.
Cons: The plumbing and sound-proofing!
Location: Very centrally located close to Brighton Station. On the edge of the North Laine. Eight or ten minutes' walk from the seafront.
I stayed in this hotel for one night when visiting Brighton for a job interview. I picked it because it was very cheap and close to the central railway station. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The only drawback to the hotel was the sound-proofing, not so much hearing the neighbours as being treated to by a performance of splashing, gushing and gurgling as water cascades through the building from the rooms above and beside. The designers of this hotel have squeezed an awful lot of rooms onto a small plot, and the convoluted viscera of pipes, pumps and macerators must be quite something to behold. Moreover, the drain in my shower was not very efficient, which may also explain the very faint subterranean aroma. But take earplugs and you'll have a good night's sleep for a very competitive price.
