Description

Discover the spectacular fauna and flora of Peneda-Gerês, Portugal's only national park. With an easy trek suitable for all skill levels, you are sure to enjoy the walk as you admire the stunning landscapes, see the idyllic Tahiti and Arado waterfalls and pause for a delectable picnic.

Begin your day with a convenient hotel pick-up before heading north toward the majestic Peneda-Gerês National Park. Along the way, see the wonderful Ave Valley and hear about the region's traditions and culture. Once at Gerês, follow your expert guide through the park's rugged paths and let your adventure begin.

With more than 128 types of natural vegetation, there's plenty of wildlife to engage with. As you venture through the park, remember to take note of its remarkable biodiversity. Admire the different species of oaks, the distinctive Portuguese laurels and the beautiful autumn and winter colours that surround you.

Follow your guide to the stunning Mata de Albergaria, one of the park's most beautiful spaces. Meander through its alleys of trees, discover the flowing waters of the natural glen, and then continue to the Arado and Tahiti waterfalls and be amazed by its powerful winter flow.

After building up an appetite, enjoy a traditional Portuguese picnic lunch before trekking to the top of the Pedra Bela viewpoint for panoramic views over the fertile slopes of the valleys.
