Description

Leave the hustle and bustle of London behind as you immerse yourself in a world of ancient wonders at the majestic ruins of Stonehenge. Hear legends about the purpose of this mystical site, and then tour the Roman city of Bath, with its gorgeous stone buildings and eponymous baths.

After being picked up, head through the English countryside, taking in the gorgeous views of gentle-sloping knolls until you reach the Stonehenge archaeological site. Approach the hilltop from a distance, admiring the view of the circle of enormous stacked stones as you get closer. Listen as your guide explains the theories behind this awe-inspiring structure, which may have been used as a place for sun worship, a healing centre, or even a burial site.

Next, head to the dazzling town of Bath, where stunning works of Georgian architecture are on display. Among them is the Royal Crescent, a row of 30 terraced houses that is laid out in a sweeping crescent in the centre of the city. As you leisurely stroll through this charming town, stop by Bath Abbey, an extravagant Gothic church, and complete your tour with an optional visit to the Roman Baths, a multi-layered complex used during Roman times for swimming and relaxing.

Our tour guide Emily and driver Key (sp) were amazing. It was a great experience for our family even with two kids in tow (8 and 5/yo). Our 8 year old really enjoyed the Roman Baths. Our 5 year old was disappointed at stone henge because he couldn’t touch the rocks until we got back to the visitor center. I would highly recommend this tour.

The locations were great but we were barely given enough time at Stonehenge to see the stones, and no time for the other exhibit or the shop. One hour was not long enough when we had to wait for the shuttle service to take us to the stones and back to the visitor's center. Likewise we were only given 2 1/2 hours to see Bath, which would not allow for anything other than the tour of the Roman baths, so we skipped the tour and went sightseeing on our own but it was still not nearly enough time to do anything. The tour company needs to adjust their times to be more realistic, or at least mention in advance how long you will have on each location so you can make an informed decision as to whether it is worth your money. I would not recommend this tour unless all you want is a pleasant drive through the countryside. If you actually want to see Stonehenge and Bath, find a different tour or go on your own.

The Stonehenge portion of the tour was great. After that it was a huge disappointment. When booking this tour you are going to Bath obviously to visit the Roman Baths!!! Well guess what? That is not included in this tour! It's an added cost. The guidedtour of the Roman Baths is not given by your guide but by the the machine provided at the baths. The drive from Stonehenge to Bath is very long which means your time there is very short. You are driven through the city in a hurry where you barely get to enjoy anything historic or the beautiful environment. There is really no time to stop for lunch at all or you are left behind by the bus. July is the worst month to visit due to the school holidays. Oh and if you try use your mobile device as your voucher for the tour (which it CLEARLY states you can) the Evan Evans tour guide will ask you to provide a printed version or email it whilst en route to Stonehenge. All in all a terrible experience with no GUIDE in reality at all.
