Description

Embark on a full-day trip that takes you deep into the Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland national parks in Germany and the Czech Republic. Breath-taking scenes of natural stone bridges and layered rock formations greet you from every angle in these monumental parks.

After convenient pick-up from your accommodation, take a drive through the German countryside to Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland, a pair of national parks that straddle the border of the Czech Republic and Germany. Make your way to a viewpoint and get a look at the incredible Bastei Rocks on the Saxon side and the centuries-old stone bridge that connects them. Walk across this historic bridge and take in views of endless tree- and rock-covered landscapes all around you.

Your journey continues to Pravcická brána, a bridge-like rock formation on the Czech side that stands as the largest natural sandstone arch in all of Europe. Stop to enjoy lunch and a drink before taking a relaxing small-boat cruise on the River Kamenice through the Kamenice Gorge, with its towering sandstone walls rising high on either side. Pass through the charming town of Hrensko on your way back to Dresden, where your experience ends with drop-off at your accommodation.

"Thunderbolt and lightning, very very exciting!!!!" What a fantastic tour if you like doing a lot of walking and visiting amazing scenery. The Bastei rocks were a sight to see built in the 1400's, leading to the ruins of a "rock castle". Then up to the largest sandstone arch in all of Europe at Pravcická brána in the Czech Republic, followed by an authentic and delicious Czech lunch and a short boat ride to end off the tour. Great time.

It was beautiful to hike and climb stairs to get to the top. Lots of various moss evergreens, streams, forest growth amid the massive stone heights. I recommend being in shape and wearing sturdy hiking shoes or sneakers. I found this place to be most beautiful place I had ever seen. Small boat ride at the end was so peaceful. Our guide was excellent! Lunch was very good traditional Czech food. Amazing views even with fog. I will definately go back! Chris from Boston
