Nicknamed the Casa dels ossos (House of Bones) by locals for its skeletal facade, Antoni Gaudí's Casa Batlló is a must-visit modernist icon in the heart of Barcelona. Step inside the luminous space to discover its organic architectural shapes, stained glass windows, and striking features with the help of a dynamic audio-video SmartGuide.

Stroll down the elegant Passeig de Gràcia to reach Casa Batlló, taking some time to admire the mosaicked exterior of the building with its bone-like balconies and vertebral details. Then, bypass the lines out front and head inside, picking up a SmartGuide on your way in. This handy screen features video and augmented reality technology to let you visualise how the Batlló family lived in this unique space and what furniture once filled its warped and unusually shaped rooms.

Listen to engaging commentary about the design of the space and the life of architect Antoni Gaudí himself as you roam this 20th-century masterpiece. Walk through the residential noble floor, the window-filled attic, and the fabulous stairwell with its ornate carvings and clever skylights. On the rooftop terrace, snap photos of the detailed chimneys, whose patterns represent figures from mythology, before making your way down the grand main staircase to bring your journey into the past to a close.

The architecture is amazing except that I think it was expensive compared to the Sagrada. The house is being restored so most of the tour was left up to the imagination

We still had to fall in line and wait for about 30 minutes. It should not be called skip the line if there's still a wait. The reason we bought it through Expedia is because of the skip the line part, but apparently that part is not true.

The “skip the line” part was only for BUYING ticket You still needed to wait in a line. I was lucky that it is winter and and its slow tourist season. Only waited around 25 minutes. But the museum is a jewel!
