Description

Experience Oslo—the forest-fringed and fascinating Norwegian capital—from the top of a double-decker bus. Hop on and off at your own pace to explore museums on everything from folk art to shipbuilding as you soak in the dazzling architecture of this Nordic metropolis.

Hop on the bus right at the cruise ship terminal and ride to the Ibsen Museum, where you can see the refurbished apartment and lavish study of playwright Henrik Ibsen. Then, head over to the 19th-century, 173-room Royal Palace to watch the changing of the guard. From there, check out the grand stone façade and bronze spires of the Akershus Castle, a fortress built to protect Oslo back in the 13th century.

Hop off at the Viking Ship Museum to see the archaeological treasures, including fully intact Viking vessels like the Oseberg Ship. Art lovers can marvel at the 212 bronze and granite statues in the Vigeland Sculpture Park before popping into the shops and restaurants of Aker Brygge, a former shipping yard converted into a lively shopping district.

This was not as good as other Hop-on Hop-off experiences we have had. On a couple of the buses many of the headphones did not work at all. There recording and/or driver did not make it clear which stop number we were at so it was a bit confusing. Still a good way to get around the city, but this one could be a little better.
