In the past, the Media Harbour was a district shaped by industry, logistics and trade, which can still be seen in the form of quay walls and trackages of the old “Ladestraße”, which are under a preservation order. However, it has also transformed into an attractive quarter for art, fashion, commerce and media as well as becoming a spectacular meeting point for parties.
Today, you can admire stunning architecture by David Chipperfield or Steven Holl, which gave the Media Harbour worldwide renown. Especially worth seeing is the “Gehry Bauten” by Frank O. Gehry, which are a landmark of Düsseldorf and impressive with their tilting walls and crooked towers.
