What you can expect

Enjoy in an authentic adventure to UNESCO protected Plitvice Lakes National Park and Rastoke watermill village in a company of your private expert guide.

The trip will start with pick up at your accommodation in Zagreb and a pleasant drive south. Just after we exit the highway you will notice an open air museum of army collections from the Croatian Homeland War. It is a rather small area that museum covers but interesting to have a look and children will absolutely love it.

Continuing the scenic drive through the lush greenery we will reach our first stop - Rastoke village in the city of Slunj. This watermill historical village of extraordinary natural beauty and tradition is built where river Slunjcica flows into Korana river forming several waterfalls and lakes. Most of the traditional architecture you will see, suffered destruction during the Homeland War and locals have been encouraged to preserve and renovate objects due to its ambiental and ethnological value. We will have to walk and optional morning coffee or breakfast.

Half an hour drive from Slunj lies the oldest and most visited Croatian National Park stretching over 300 square kilometres. Plitvice Lakes National Park with its outstanding beauty was in 1979 inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage Site for geological and ecological values. We will have a walk to see the complex of 16 terraced lakes joined by waterfalls, a boat ride across the lake and a panoramic train ride.

After the tour of Plitvice Lakes your guide can recommend you a restaurant serving traditional Croatian food for lunch.

Trip will finish with a drop-off at your accommodation back in Zagreb and hopefully with a great lifetime memories!
