Night-time Hellfire Club Occult & History Tour

by Hidden Dublin Walks and Tours Duration 2h 30m Non-refundable No booking or credit card fees
per adult Price is £22

Set off on a spine-tingling adventure into the mountains to the Hellfire Club, a desolate location largely considered to be one of the most haunted sites in all of Ireland. Hike up a secluded path to get to the decrepit lodge, and it hear of its connections to Satanism, the supernatural, and the occult.

From central Dublin, board a bus for a ride out of town into the isolated country. You soon arrive at the base of Montpelier Hill, a site upon which sits the 18th-century Hellfire Club. Using a torch or cell phone to guide your way, trek up the dark and creepy path until you reach the summit of the hill.

Upon arrival, you're greeted by the run-down Hellfire Club, a former hunting lodge dating back to the early 1700s. Listen closely as your guide shares the intriguing tale of how the lodge was taken over a group of men in the 1730s for depraved activities. Feel the chills come over you as you hear of black masses, animal rituals, and human sacrifices. If you dare, wander through the eerie halls as you learn about the skeletons and demonic statues that were once found here.

When you need a break from the terrifying stories, head to the edge of the summit. Here, at 1,257 feet (383 metre) above the city, gaze out upon sprawling views of illuminated buildings and dark night sky. After above an hour of time to explore all the shocking sites and horrifying history walk down the hill for the ride back to Dublin.
