Leave the golden sands and charming streets of Byron Bay behind as you climb aboard comfortable, air-conditioned transport and head west. Cruise through pastoral landscapes and dense stretches of forest before you arrive at Mount Warning National Park. After getting situated in your tent or cabin, take a dip in a sparkling waterfall-fed swimming hole and then cosy up next to a roaring fire. Enjoy a delectable barbecue dinner and round off your evening with golden-brown roasted marshmallows.
Wake up well before dawn and lace up your hiking boots while your guides prepare a hearty breakfast to help fuel you on your walk. When you’re ready, head out for a 3-mile (4.5 km) hike through the subtropical rainforests and up the fern-filled slopes of Mount Warning. At the top, settle down and watch the sun peek over the horizon, illuminating the Byron hinterland in a sea of warm light. Snap a few photos to remember the experience before you head back down the trail, listening to the early calls of birds. At the bottom, pack up and head back to Byron Bay, enjoying the scenic drive one last time.
