What you can expect
Go beneath the streets on this tour of the spectacular Moscow Metro—its architecture, the old Soviet propaganda, and a few stories from a local in the know. You also get a look at the sights above ground, along with the inside scoop on what's gone on behind the city's walls.
Your tour starts beneath the city, where you explore the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the famous Square of Revolution station, get a look at the impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers that fill the Metro. Your local guide shares personal stories from Soviet times, giving you insight into Russia's complicated past and present.
Next, head back up to street level and take a break with some traditional Russian pancakes, called bliny. Next, take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus along the Moscow Garden Ring. Make a stop at the Aviator's House, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where you can hear the legends of the intrigue that went on inside the walls and see how Russia exists now, a quarter-century after the USSR.
