Luxury-Group Half-Day Tour of Cu Chi Tunnels

by Vietnam Travel Group Duration 6h Picks up from select hotels Picks up from select hotels Free cancellation available No booking or credit card fees
per adult Price is £19

Escape the bustle of the city to explore rural scenery of Southern Vietnam and get an up-close look at the famous Cu Chi Tunnels in Southern Vietnam. Learn about the lives of Vietnamese soldiers by going for a subterranean stroll through the tunnels, and get the chance to fire guns from the Vietnam War era at a nearby shooting range.

After getting picked up at your hotel, ride out of town to the site of the Cu Chi Tunnels, where Vietnamese soldiers ate, slept, and trained in an expansive underground network of tunnels, passageways, and rooms. Learn about the construction of the tunnels, buried beneath 10–13 feet (3–4 metre) of soil to protect them from bombs, watch an engaging documentary, and squeeze through the narrow quarters yourself to see what life was like for these daring combatants.

Back above ground, visit the sites of huge bomb craters left from the war, and check out the exhibits and displays at the Garment-factory Ammunition and Souvenir Shops and the Museum of Self-made Weapons. Afterward, consider heading to the shooting range for the opportunity to fire an Metre-15, AK-47, and carbine rifle at the National Defence Sports Shooting Range.

Before you head back to your hotel, sit down to chat about your experience over a tasty meal of traditional Vietnamese fare. Morning visitors can enjoy steaming bowls of pho while afternoon tunnel trekkers can bite into flaky banh mi sandwiches.

The value for. Money is perfect. I would however, not call it luxury, there ia nothing luxurious about it. The guide, Mario, was excellent and made it all worth it, he had so much knowledge and was really keen to make us understand what happened and why.

This tour didn't live up to our expectations. Our shuttle picked us up 30mins late to start with and the 6hr tour was actually 5hrs travelling/stuck in traffic and 1hr at the actual Cu Chi Tunnels. We found our guide to be slightly unprofessional. He made a few comments we didn't appreciate, one toward a young school girl who he seemed to be trying to flirt with. He also didn't actually teach us much at all about the history. In hindsight, we could have learnt more from a YouTube clip. The free soup isn't provided until the very end of the 6hr trip (after 7pm at night, the tour starts at 1pm) so we were rather hungry at that point and opted to be dropped off in town and caught a taxi back to our accom to eat there instead. This trip could be great for anyone who is really interested in war history, but I'd recommend going with a different tour company maybe...
