Your adventure begins at 8:00 AM at the Civic Centre, a key meeting point where modern Lima embraces the past.
Our first sightseeing stop will be the imposing Palace of Justice, the largest judicial seat in Peru, whose architecture inspired by European palaces will take your breath away.
We'll walk a few blocks to Plaza San Martin, then we'll walk to Parque Universitario, where you'll learn about the history of Peruvian education in front of the historic Casona de San Marcos. From this point, we will prepare for the greatest contrast of the sightseeing tour: the immersion in “Lima Real.”
We'll enter El Hueco and the commercial hub of Mesa Redonda, where you'll find a variety of clothing and items from different original and local brands. During this 15-minute indoor tour, you'll get a close-up look at the capital's popular economic engine, a labyrinth full of energy, colour, and the ingenuity of local commerce that few tourists get to see for sure.
We'll walk along Calle Capón (the Chinese Quarter) with the option of a MinPao food tasting.
After this vibrant experience, we'll head to the Alameda Chabuca Granda. Here, we'll enjoy a privileged view of San Cristobal Hill, and you'll learn about the legacy of our Creole music as we explore the traditional pastry stalls.
Just a few steps away, we will arrive at the Main Square, where we will see the facade of the Cathedral of Lima, the Government Palace, and the Municipal Palace.
To round off the gastronomic part, we'll make our second-to-last stop to sample the legendary Churros San Francisco, a crispy, hot snack filled with manjar blanco that's a must-try tradition in the historic centre. (Optional)
Finally, we'll end the tour at a selection of the best handicraft shops in the centre. I'll drop you off at a strategic location with high-quality textiles, silverware, and ceramics so you can shop with complete peace of mind and at your own pace, just in time for you to enjoy lunch in the heart of the city.
