Description

See 2 different sides of Guatemala in 1 day by touring its capital city and the idyllic, colonial town of Antigua. On this guided full-day tour, discover the country's diverse history, culture, architecture, and day to day modern life.

You’ll be pick up at your hotel in Guatemala City. Upon your arrival in Antigua, stroll its peaceful, cobblestone streets, where the spirit of its history still thrives. Once the capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala, Antigua is filled with enchanting vintage buildings and stunning Baroque architecture, including the splendid San José and La Merced Catholic churches. After the cathedrals, head to Santa Catalina Arch and see the mighty Volcano of Water in the background. Continue visiting the Central Park, with amazing buildings important for the ancient capital and the actual Antigua Guatemala. Here, we also appreciate Las Sirenas fountain, a peculiar fountain with and oral tradition behind its construction.

We will have time for Lunch and then transfer to Guatemala City.

Continue your journey by visiting Avenida Las Americas, one of the capital's high streets, while seeing the Plazas in honour to american countries. Continue or road to Plaza Berlin, a special plaza where there are 3 original part that belong to the Berlin Wall. In the road, we pass by La Reforma Avenue, where we can find monument of important people for the Guatemala history.

We also see Yurrita Church, which is a private chapel of mixed Baroque style, with Romanesque and Byzantine elements, built as a votive offering by Felipe Yurrita.

From there, move on to the Civic Center, where you find landmark buildings erected in the 1950s and '60s, such as the Bank of Guatemala headquarters and city hall. Continue to Plaza Mayor, part of the city's historic centre, and take note of the stunning colonial architecture. Conclude the tour with visits the Metropolitan Cathedral and the colourful Central Market, where you can see some handicraft, food and textiles.

At the end of the tour, you’ll transfer back to your hotel.

My family’s first trip to Guatemala and our experience with this tour was a great one,Our tour guide was Juan Pablo AKA JP,k jp and his driver were great,jp was attentive ,and knowledgeable ,professional,and he was never distracted by others he was focused on us,we were very happy with the tour,I would recommend jp for who ever books the past and prest Guatemala,he did a great job
