Gourmet Bordeaux Trip from Paris with Wine-Tastings & Lunch

by Walks of Paris Non-refundable No booking or credit card fees

Never has Bordeaux been so accessible. Just 2 hours from Paris on the new high-speed train, the king of French wine regions makes for an easy and delicious day trip. On this gourmet experience you’ll taste 8 wines at 3 spots; explore stunning Saint-Emilion Village; and eat lunch at a Chateau.

The first stop of the day is Saint-Emilion Village, a UNESCO World Heritage site with a history of producing wine since the 2nd century. You’ll tour the town and visit a small winery that shows off the many different wines produced in the region, then head down into its historic cellars to taste some of the wines you have just learned about, along with a Bordeaux macaron.

Your next stop is a nearby chateau. You’ll enjoy a full tour of the vineyard, learning how climate and geology have impacted the soil, and visiting the scent garden to test your palate. The highlight, of course, is the wine. Your tasting will take place in the chateau tower where you will enjoy two of their finest, then head downstairs for a delicious lunch and, of course, more wine.

Afterwards you’ll make the short journey to a smaller, family-run vineyard. This spot has some of the oldest grapevines in Bordeaux, the story behind which you will hear on your tour - delivered by the owner. Watch him tap some of his barrels to fill another three glasses for you - two whites and a very old style of wine called a claret, which is making a comeback in the region.

Michelle was our host and she was amazing and full of knowledge. My husband and I had an amazing day out in the Bordeaux region. The vineyards were friendly with a great sense of humour. The wine was magnificent - we purchased a few bottles to take back home. Meeting point was easily found and we got there at 6am, no traffic around! Highly recommend this tour if you love red wine, it was an amazing day out and we would do it again! It is a long day but it’s worth it to see the region. St Emilion was beautiful! Thanks Michelle for a great tour :)

This tour is a little pricey but well worth the money for anyone wanting to see the French country side and enjoy some nice wines. Warning - unlike most tours the start time is strict. Do not show up late because u will be left behind due to the need to catch trains.
