Know Before You Book

  • You must be 10 or older.

  • Children 17 and younger must be accompanied by a paying adult.

  • Young children must be of adequate size to fit into the equipment and be capable of carrying a 40-pound tank on their back.

  • If you are taking prescription medications, you should get a doctor's release to particpate.

  • You must be in good physical condition. If you have asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure or other medical condition, you must present a written doctor's medical release.

  • If you are pregnant, you may not take part.

  • If you have problems equalising your ears, you should not take part.

  • It is a safety requirement that you do not participate in this activity the same day that you fly; please plan your activity accordingly.

  • Hotel pickup is available from Bahamas hotels. Please arrange pickup from your hotel or a nearby location when you call to confirm your reservation.

What you can expect

If you’ve ever wanted to experience the serenity and wonders of scuba diving, learn the basics with this half-day class. Start with water skills and an orientation in the pool, and then head out to a shallow reef for your first tank dive experience under the sea.

After being picked up from your hotel, head to a resort where you can get hands-on experience with scuba equipment and information from a PADI-certified instructor. Spend an hour or so in the pool getting comfortable breathing underwater, and then hop onto a waiting boat and head out across the waves to your introductory dive site.

Strap on your tank and dive in, following your expert instructor as they guide you by the delicate coral formations and schools of tropical fish in a teeming, shallow reef. Let the gentle current drift you along the seabed and soak up the tranquility of this peaceful and colourful underwater realm before emerging back into the sunlit surface.

This course is a quick and simple learn to dive programme. People who have never tried diving before can, in a matter of an hour, be on a boat and enjoying their first scuba experience.
