Description

Shakespeare had good reason to choose Verona as the setting for his great romance, Romeo and Juliet, and you can see this city of great beauty and drama for yourself. This full-day trip from Venice shows you the true beauty and grandeur of the grand and famous city.

After you meet your guide in the heart of Venice, venture into the Italian mainland for the journey to Verona. Once you arrive, you can see the Roman-era Verona Arena amphitheatre, still used as a venue for opera, as well as Juliet's House, a 14th-century residence claimed as the home of Shakespeare's fictional heroine. To this day, visitors traditionally leave love letters under the house's balcony.

Next, take to the streets to uncover the stories of Verona. Visit the Piazza delle Erbe and climb the stairs of the town hall for views of the frescoed Mazzanti Houses and Palazzo Maffei. Exit through Arco della Costa and move on to the gothic Scagliere family tombs, and then take a walk along the river past Casa del Romeo.

After a visit to the exquisite Verona Cathedral, with incredible art and architecture inside, walk through the ancient Roman gates of Porta Borsari before a quick stroll through the 14th-century castle of Castelvecchio, where you can get a great view from the ramparts. Bid the city farewell from its best vantage point at Castel San Pietro before the journey back to Venice.

The trip Verona should be more specific when described what kind of tour . We did not know it was a walking tour .... I have bad knees and my travel partner has a bad back ..... we participated and at the last 20 minutes we could not walk anymore to visit the castle . Suzie was very good and informative but if we new it was a walking tour for 8 hours we would not have gone because I suffered from my knees for 2 days in pain.

Not very happy with this activity, being a first timer in Venice and can’t speak the language but tried our best to find the meeting place which is very confusing as well and contacted the customer service for help but nobody answering the phone. Even approached the police if we are at the right place and was informed that we are. Spending so much to see this place and contacted the company if they can rebooked us without paying again. But was told to pay E158, they admitted the meeting place is a bit confusing which is not our fault if we are waiting in the wrong place as they’ve said to wait at the right hand of the bridge.

I was first time in Verona and I can say in was a nice day to visit this city but to some places like Juliet home it was full of people to the time we arive and I'm a person of doing photos......very disapointed of not have the chance to do some good pictures becouse of the people who look like a group of animals drank and pressed for time to make a picture. So I can say it was just a good day.
