By using public transport, be part of this amazing metropolis and get a sense of local life in Buenos Aires. Explore downtown, also known as Microcentro, with your bilingual guide before visiting San Telmo, the famous Caminito street of La Boca, and Recoleta.

At San Martin Square take the underground to the Obelisk, a symbol of Buenos Aires, and walk down the lively 9 de Julio Avenue, the widest avenue in the world. At Plaza de Mayo, a main square and political hub, visit the Metropolitan Cathedral and observe the Cabildo—the Colonial town hall—and the Casa Rosada, the presidential headquarters.

Head to one of the oldest districts, San Telmo, boasting a vibrant tango and arts scene, and discover how antique markets, cobblestones, candle street lighting known as faroles, and historical buildings with original façades add to the bohemian atmosphere. After a break for lunch take a bus to La Boca, known for Boca Juniors’ stadium and Caminito, a colourful street, to enjoy enchanting tango dances and singing.

Led by your local guide, admire Puerto Madero’s skyscrapers and Puente de la Mujer (literally, Women’s Bridge) on the bus ride to the elegant Recoleta area, known for the impressive Recoleta Cemetery as well as museums, cafés, and shopping centres. As your tour ends, get a chance to explore the Recoleta Cemetery, Evita Peron's resting place.

We had a great day on this tour. Barbi was a wonderful guide, always on hand to answer any question. The tour was well paced, Barbi made travelling on the buses very easy. Walking the city made it much easier to access different neighbourhoods and areas which was a welcome difference from the hop on hope off buses. A tour well worth doing,
