Description

Look beyond the usual tourist stops on a day trip to some of Cappadocia's lesser-known locales. With visits to the villages of Mustafapasa, Cemil, and Taskinpasa, the Keslik Monastery, the Soganli Valley, and the Sobessos excavation site, you get a new perspective on the heritage of the region.

The tour sets out from your hotel in the morning for a ride to the village of Mustafapasa. Known as Sinasos during the Ottoman Empire, this town was home to a thriving community of Cappadocian Greeks until after World War I, and you can still see some old Greek houses alongside the Ottoman-era madrasah and an 18th-century church.

Next, a short drive takes you to Cemil, a small village where you get a look at everyday Cappadocian life. Visit the Keslik Monastery, a complex of frescoed halls carved right into a towering rock face, and then enjoy a local lunch before you visit the tranquil Soganli Valley. A hike along one side of the valley shows you the ancient cave churches, and then the tour moves on to the village of Taskinpasa for another look at traditional life.

Your day ends with a visit to the Sobessos excavation site, where you can see the Roman-era baths, tombs, and temple dating back to the 4th century. Return to your hotel in the evening after a spectacular day of sightseeing.

Incredible tour, visited less touristic places in cappadocia. Visited many hidden gems like churches, monasteries and other structures in the cappadocia region. While being given good explanations and historical context of there places.

Originally, I was to go on this tour; however, after calling to confirm pick up time it was explained to me that I was the only person that had signed up for the tour. They asked me if I would like to go ahead with the tour or jump on another one. I chose to jump on the green line tour, I believe. The alternative tour was great. I had fun, saw a lot of impressive things, and I was never bored! I would highly recommend this activity
