Description

Auschwitz-Birkenau Extermination Camp is an unforgettable history lesson that warns against the perils of fascism. Nazis were heartless and consequent in their pursuit of slaughtering Jews and Poles. To accelerate their heinous plan, they built the largest and deadliest camp in the history of World War II.

Over 70 years ago after the horrifying experience of war, millions of people from all corners of the world flock to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum in order to fully comprehend the atrocities that the camp prisoners went through. Even although over 1.1 mln of them died, a handful that made it out alive shared with the whole world what happened.

Equipped with bloodcurdling stories and riveting facts, the certified museum guides take the visitors around the preserved instruments of death such as gas chambers, crematoria, and original wooden barracks. Some parts of the site foreground the scale of murders through exhibiting the gigantic piles of personal belongings and pictures of individual prisoners.

Auschwitz-Birkenau Extermination Camp is an unmissable landmark that must be remembered. It evokes feelings of grief and causes you to wonder why human beings are capable of such merciless and barbaric acts.

Although a 7:15am pick up was early, our hotel had organised us a packed lunch. Our visit was sombre and though provoking. Auschwitz-Birkenau is somewhere that everyone should visit at least once.

Th transport was very well organised. And the guide for the day was excellent. There is a lot of walking, and although on the day we were there the weather was good, there is a lot of time spent outside in a very exposed area.,so I would recommend sensible footwear and a warm coat.I would still highly recommend the tour. You reallly do need a tour guide to explain the background to all of the exhibits.

It was an impactful visit, I just felt we were were rushed around with little time to visit the gift shops at the sites. There is quite a bit of walking involved which needs to be made clear.
