Then, explore the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, meaning St Mary of the Angels.
Before continuing to Orvieto you have the opportunity to eat lunch in a traditional restaurant if you wish. In Orvieto, you can admire the magnificence of the Gothic Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture with a glistening façade of stained glass, mosaics and sculptures. Soak up Orvieto’s charms and see the countless churches that are scattered around its centre. Head back to Rome where you are dropped off at your hotel.

Had an amazing day visiting Assisi and Orvieto. Our tour guides (Claudio, Claudio #2 and Claudia) were amazing. We got there in comfortable van safely driven by Adam. Guides were informative, fun and knew great Local places. Would highly recommend!!! My daughter and I loved Assisi.

We had a fantastic tour guide named Marco. He had extensive knowledge of the local history as well as military history worldwide. He and my husband hit it off immediately. Our driver was very good and quite professional. It was wonderful being picked up directly from our hotel, so we did not have to use a taxi. The car was clean and the drive was beautiful. In Assisi we met a local guide who knew the area very well and he was also very knowledgeable and helpful. Both towns are quite spectacular and beautiful. It was a great day to relax and avoid the crowds in Rome. Highly recommend this trip.
